Gazing into someone's eyes gives me a profound sense of fully embracing their emotions. The eye acts as a deeply inspiring source when I create my artwork. The world exists in a stable state within the laws of nature, but when a person intervenes, the balance of nature becomes unstable. 'The Eye' instills a sense of crisis stemming from climate change. 'The Eye' makes the audience aware of the need for a change in their actions and allows them to experience a shift in emotions.
Each of these two artworks is programmed to sound an alarm or turn on an LED whenever the viewer interacts with the work, reflecting an awareness of the crises at hand. ‘The Eye’ monitors human intervention to the point where every part is completely congested and red.
In the first work (red), when a person approaches and touches the work, the machine recognizes the changed brightness and sounds an alarm. It was programmed by using Arduino, and the alarm is sounded using a piezo buzzer.
The second work (Blue) is programmed to turn on the LED when a person touches the work.
The color and shape of the artworks were abstractly shaped, recalling climate change such as wildfires caused by human activities, glacial greenery caused by warming, and heavy rain.
